NRL-CC40

No Residue Lace or Poly Tape

Medium-shine clear tape with a 5-15 day hold that comes off so cleanly you will want to use it for daily attachment also. Shown here in a CC curve. Our most popular product! Designed for extended wear and no clean up issues.

Currently this is the very best tape out there. Why? Because it gives a strong hold, and is released easily leaving behind no mess whatsoever, either on the hairpiece or on the skin. Plus, with a long-term bond, no sticky stuff ever appears through the lace or on the forehead beyond the hairline, so no dirt has anything sticky to stick to, meaning this is the only product that gives you a clean and touchable forehead and hairline on the second day!

It is not 100% ideal, because it has a slight shine to it that you may see through the lace, but you can knock this shine down with your fingers, and the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Note: the side adjacent to the printed backing is much less shiny than the side adjacent to the brown split backing, so if using with a lace front, peel and apply split side to scalp first, then peel the printed side and place lace down onto it.

To date we have tested three new no-shine tapes that promised to be an improvement, but two failed to adhere properly to lace, and one was as messy as the worst of the glues. So this no residue tape still reigns supreme, dispite it's slight shine. If you hate havng to clean up glue residue, use this tape exclusively and your problems vanish.

Extenda Bond

Extenda Bond Mini Strips

Low-shine very strong bonding tape. Comes in bag of 36. Each tape is 1.5" X 0.75" with a slight curve. Stronger even than Blue Liner Tape and less messy. Results vary, but you will probably get your longest hold from this tape. The manufacturer says 6 weeks, we say 1 to 3 weeks is very likely.

3MIL-A-36

3 MIL Lace Front Glue Tape

No-shine clear glue without any tape liner between waxed paper peel-off backing. Extra thin! Recently improved with stronger adhesive! Shown here in an A curve.

Designed for light density lace fronts where shiny tape would show. 3 MIL is 3/1000th of an inch.

Advantages: Holds for 5 to 12 days and is not shiny at all. Amazing results with lace front hairpieces! A great choice for oily skin as it will not bleed and migrate as much as the liquid glues. If you are tired of having glue beyond your edge, or not close enough to your edge, try 3MIL tape, and place it on the unit, not your head, and put it right on the edge every time. Once again, this is glue, in a tape format. There is no actual tape at all.

Disadvantages: The longer you leave this adhesive on, the longer it takes to clean up. But it's quite easy using the mirror slide and other methods described on this site. Can whiten under skin bases if you get very hot. Can be hard to master the peeling away of the backing paper.

Blu-C-36

Blue Liner Lace Front Support Tape

A clear double sided adhesive on a less shiny tape material. Shown here in a C curve. Designed to hold for a couple of weeks and reduce the reflective glint that is often visible through the front edge of lace fronted hairpieces.

Advantages: Strong enough for scuba diving. Less shiny through the lace front. Shampoo hair in place daily.

Disadvantages: Very strong adhesive, must be released thoroughly with lace release, adhesive remover or alcohol before removal from lace. Leaves a mess if used on poly so should be used only on lace or monofilament. Not quite invisible, but it's matte enough for densities of 90% and up on lace fronts.
