Everyone has their methods of choice. Generally, it is much easier to use tape, but tape adds a thickness that glue does not. Glue is often the best choice for the lace front because you really can't see it.

If you can use no residue tape and it looks okay, then you'll have an easy life. Glue, while less detectable, requires a regime of maintenance and cleaning.
