After releasing the lace with CoolPiece Lace Release or 99% alcohol, place wide plastic parcel tape over the residue and push the lace back down over the shiny side of the tape. The sticky side of the tape will pull most of the residue off your skin and the shiny side will attract some of the residue from the lace. (Thanks to Crawler in Calgary).
