How should I care for synthetic hair? PDF Print E-mail

Do not wash synthetic hair in very hot water. It is better to wash it off the head in a sink of cool water than in a warm shower.

Do not use a hair dryer or any other dry heat device or the hair will be damaged (melted).

If the hair is curly, avoid brushing and combing. A gentle shake and air drying should preserve the curls for months with no frizz. Brushing mixes the hairs up and you lose the original neat ringlets that were steamed in. Synthetic hair is a great choice for very curly hair because the perm process takes away the silky qualities of human hair, making it feel inferior to synthetic.

Avoid heat blasts from barbecues, sauna rocks etc.

For extra care, get a satin pillowcase so there is no abrasion
